ENDLESS LONGING

“Endless longing” is a photo series about urban places in a big city, a sport, passion and an endless longing.

About 10 years ago I started to get enthusiastic about BMX riding on my own and my enthusiasm quickly turned into a passion. I spent about eight years teaching myself various stunts, getting to know people and discovering a wide variety of places.

The independency and freedom of BMX drove me with an incredibly high level of motivation to explore the urban infinity of cities.

I quickly realized that these places are more to me than just streets or buildings. For me they were an escape from everyday life. Areas in which I could forget the stress and the fast pace of the city.

After I sold my BMX when I was around 24 and lived my life haphazardly, I discovered photography for myself.

I quickly noticed how my camera brought me back to the same places again and again. I started traveling to different countries to see and explore the architecture and urban living spaces.

Here, too, it quickly became clear that random snapping images becomes a passion that also awakens an incredible amount of energy in me. This energy pushed me again and again to wriggle out of creative lows and times of extreme pressure and to recover. The biggest motivation behind photography, however, is to visualize my thoughts and momentarily freeze those in which I feel comfortable.

For me, 'endless longing' is the union of the past and the present. A photo series where I try to make the mood in which I seek refuge tangible.
